Exposition Park is to Dallas what Tribeca is to New York City, River North is to Chicago, and Venice is to Los Angeles: neighborhoods where creative and artistic people seek to gravitate. Home to sculptors, painters, film and video production, architects, civic planners, actors, sports personalities, reality show contestants and folks from all aspects of professional services, Exposition Park is again flourishing with several new residential and commercial developments. The Dallas Power and Light Building in the 3800 block of Commerce is getting a multi-million dollar renovation as a gallery museum space. A few blocks away, Centraltrak is the University of Texas at Dallas’ artist residency. The entire area is developing into a unique microcosm for Dallas’ creative community. The gallery 500X has provided one of the best exhibition spaces to up and coming artists in the city of Dallas since 1978.
